So. When I left Canada, I made a list of “goals” to achieve while in China; I can’t remember them word for word, but they were something like: become a Chinese pop star, get famous, be on a game show, and produce/star in The Bachelorette – China Edition…so after being here almost three months…I think I may have almost achieved one of those goals.
In November I stumbled across a Chinese Beauty Pageant that offered a free 10 day tour of the Fujian province as one of the prizes for the top 10 contestants…and seeing as though I *love* Fujian, I signed myself up…Saturday night after listening to the worst “jazz” concert of my life, though feeling better after listening to a dream boat sing and play guitar all night at an open mike night, I returned home to check my email…which revealed to me that I’M TOP TEN…alright. On Friday December 4th I fly to Xiamen to take part in Miss Fujian Tulou, it’s only expected to have a million viewers..aha. no biggie.
I’ve never really had beauty queen goals, but when I do something I do it right..go big or go home…; so if I’m making top ten in this beauty pageant, I’m going all for it. New goal: win the beauty pageant. How? Good question. I’m working on it; talent show = sing a Chinese song, all the other portions = answer in Chinese…cross your fingers I get a red dress…that will be the kicker. Suggestions on how to win..let me know ;)

In other news, on Friday I’m off to Chongqing for a 3 game series with my hockey team, although on Sunday at practice we found out that we’re playing on a rink that’s miniature, and has no lines; so therefore no offsides or icings..but hey, it should be another experience to say the least. And. I’ve decided I’m staying a few extra days to take in the sights..yay :)
